Minneapolis artists, siblings, Kristin & Eric Wornson create a unique collection of colorful jewelry using glass and real flowers, blossoms, seeds, weeds, grasses, whatever they stumble upon growing in their local greenspaces and cracked sidewalks. Their training stems from early stained-glass projects (8 and 12 years old - carefully monitored by an energetic Norwegian grandfather), to an intense period of self-instruction in cutting thousands of small squares of glass and copper-foiling and melting metal upon edges without smoldering flowers.

With a love for adventure, artistic pursuits, and curious exploration - we first seek & collect flowers from forests, yards, prairies, boulevards, ditches, alleys, and the gardens of friends, family & unwitting strangers. Stained glass of all kinds is cut from large sheets to small squares, ranging from 1/2" to an 1". The flowers are carefully tweezered between layers of glass and the glass edges are wrapped in a silver-backed, copper foil tape. Pewter is melted atop the foil, drop by drop, with care not to burn the flowers, but with an aim to build a substantial, enduring edge. Pieces are finally cleaned up and polished to a satin finish. The result is both a depth and oft remarked, painted quality - tiny but striking, we hope they encourage one to look a little closer.

Kristin and Eric work out of a small studio in Minneapolis that for a small portion of the day becomes an apartment.
